An absolutely STUNNING live performance from alt-indie songstress Sofia Machray, filmed at San Fran in Wellington.

Perfumed with hints of angelic soul and intricate instrumentation, the indie-ballad sees Machray mulling over the complexity of life and its confronting situations. ‘The Untold’ takes its listeners on a rollercoaster of emotions toying on notions of clarity and peace of mind. As the track progresses it blossoms through various soundscapes transitioning between sparkly guitars and conflicting distortions. Aromatized with haunting harmonies, the sweet scent of layers build-up into a soulful display of Machray's dynamics.

Drawing on life's conflicts and how they can often stop you from doing the things you want to do. Sofia Machray explains how ‘The Untold’ is about moving past those conflicts and focusing on the bigger things; “often when I’m confronted with new situations it can seem so significant at the time, I find myself spiralling into thought and dwelling on what’s happening. For me, this song is a gentle reminder to not let the small things bother you and to accept that there are some things you can’t control.”

Flowering into an array of sounds, ‘The Untold’ has grown with Sofia from a young age, she explains; “the bones of the song have been with me for about 5 years, as I’ve grown older with it more elements have been introduced. I love how songs can grow and transform with you, I often find a shift in the meaning and story behind them too. I hope my audience can take it away and grow with it as I did.”
